Vernon Greenways Volunteers, Inc. (VGV) relies on financial support from sponsors at various levels to fulfill our mission. Sponsors are essential members who provide the necessary funding to maintain and clean our trails, as well as support various projects throughout the year. These contributions allow VGV to purchase essential supplies, maps, and maintenance equipment.
Please note that all Adopt-a-Trail and Project Sponsorship donations are renewed annually in January. Contributions for General donations and for the Mural are accepted at any time throughout the year.
Annual Donation
Adopt-A-Trail Sponsorship
$200 annual donation
16 segments of trail within the town of Vernon are sponsored by local individuals and businesses totaling approximately 20 miles. These sponsors are acknowledged with a sign at the trailheads of their “adopted” section of trail.
Project Sponsorship
$150 annual donation
This initiative began in 2007 as a “Pick Up After Your Pet (PUP)” campaign that successfully led to the installation of several dog waste stations in high-traffic areas along the trails in Vernon. Project sponsorship funds help offset the costs of providing plastic waste bags and educational signage for trail users. In recognition of this support, sponsors are featured on signs at the specific pet stations they fund.
One Time Donation
General
$25 or greater suggested donation
All donations are gratefully accepted at any time to offset VGV expenses dedicated to the maintenance of Vernon’s recreational trails.
Mural Maintenance and Restoration
Donations may be directed specifically toward the maintenance of the mural at the I-84 overpass. VGV plans to repaint the mural at a future date and will launch a larger fundraising campaign to finance that project at that time.
